Piazza Castello is actually the most famous square in Turin and is of great historical importance, not only thanks to the structure of the square itself but mainly thanks to the historical buildings that are in its area, where you will find, for example, the Royal Palace, the Royal Theater, the Lady’s Palace and much more. As for the square, it is mainly used as a place of recreation and gathering and is the main artery in the city of Turin.
Historically, the spectacular square began its journey in the 1st century AD, when it had two buildings, four arches, and a fortified wall that proved its strength and resistance during the barbarian invasions. Later, other buildings were added to it, some of which can still be seen today, while in the 20th century it underwent an extensive renovation during which a sidewalk for pedestrians, new flooring, water fountains, and more were added.

First, be fresh – the square is home to some of the best coffee shops in the city, so it is recommended to purchase a hot cup of coffee, look out over the crowd and soak up some atmosphere.
